The Photograph

All the photos on this site were shot in the 35mm format using color reversal film, otherwise known as slides. Slide film produces the sharpest images with the smallest film grain allowing me to enlarge the images without loosing the crispness of the image.

Once the image is captured on film, the film is developed by a professional laboratory. I then scan the image into my computer using a Nikon LS 2000 film scanner. Using digital darkroom techniques in Photoshop, the image is color corrected and dust and scratches are removed. Other darkroom techniques such as dodging and burning are also used when needed to enhance the image. The original image is not altered or manipulated in any way.

Some of the panorama images available on this site were created by stitching two or more images together in Photoshop.

Standard frame sizes for the matted images are as follows:

                        Frame Size 8" x 10"                 Image Size 5" x 7"

                        Frame Size 14" x 18"                Image Size 8" x 12"

                        Frame Size 16" x 20"                Image Size 10" x 14"

                        Frame Size 20" x 24"                Image Size 12" x 16"

The frame size for the matted panorama images is 15" x 30"

Canvas prints come mounted on stretcher bars in the sizes listed on the order information page.

Note Card images are 7" at their widest or tallest points. All Note Cards are blank inside and come with envelopes.

Each photograph is signed by Don Browning.
